What is it about Noosa that makes it such an ideal holiday destination? Noosa has always had a special unique charm. We have been lucky enough to spend quite a lot of time in this stunning pocket of Australia. When you arrive in Noosa, you instantly feel like you are on holidays. Hastings Street is quaint and cute but has many hidden gems. There are some gorgeous shops to cruise around while you devour your holiday gelato and its striking Main Beach is tucked away behind the main street and is so accessible (especially for families with young children). When you hit the boardwalk that runs along the beach, it immediately gives you all the relaxed, carefree feels, not to mention it is a perfect holiday backdrop every single time that you see it.
Tell us your favourite beach spot in? This visit we stayed on Hastings Street so Main Beach was undoubtedly the easiest place to spend our days. We do however love to sneak away to Little Cove Beach further around towards the National Park and we also love heading up to the National Park and find a hidden spot on the rocks while the husbo heads out for a wave. Sunshine Beach is also another favourite of ours when we head further out of town.
What are three must-do's when travelling to Noosa with kids in tow? 1. Definitely go out and walk around at night and indulge in some gelato or ice cream while you do it. The fairy lights that cover the trees in the main street is reason alone, our kids feel like they're in a fairy land and it absolutely creates that perfect holiday atmosphere at the end of a hot salty day. 2. Spending time at one of Noosa's incredible beaches is obviously a must and if you are feeling active and adventurous the Coastal Walk or Tanglewood Track are absolutely stunning, also perfect for those who love capturing photos of this rustic coastline. 3. Stay on Hastings Street or close by, Noosa is one of those holiday destinations that you want to park your car when you get there and not have to touch it until you leave. Its is so easy to walk everywhere and apart from those days that you feel like adventuring out, being in the main street makes it super easy for small kids to walk everywhere or head out in between nap times or at night (it also saves looking for a parking spot which can get a bit difficult on those balmy days).
Favourite place to grab a bite? We absolutely LOVED the vibe of ''El Capitano'' upstairs on Hastings Street. It is right up our alley with its Caribbean influence, reggae music and delicious easy eats. If you are looking to re-calibrate and relax, this place will take you there immediately. ''Grill'd'' had the best burgers in town, they give a portion of their profits back to the local community and it was the perfect place to fill the kids up after a big day at the beach. If you visit Noosa, you have to grab a coffee at Aroma's - its French influence takes you straight to Paris and its outward turned seats makes it the perfect place to people watch and take it all in. And finally, for the parents, we always manage to sneak into Noosa Beach House (below the Sofitel) for a cocktail and a bite to eat.
