Triplet Mama :: Meet Christy Beck

As a mum of baby triplets, Christy Beck is basking in three times the love, and three times the juggle. Needless to say, we were very keen to chat to Christy about how life has changed with the addition of her three little loves, the challenges and the surprises about her journey into new motherhood.

Who’s in your tribe?

My hubby Ryan, Cali, Rockwell (Rocky) and Elli. Rocky is the big brother by two minutes to the girls. Elli is the youngest babe...she’s sweet and happy go lucky.  Cali is our wild child who is full of personality and smiles. And, as if triplets aren’t enough, we also have 4 small dogs too!

Home is....Virginia!  I grew up by the ocean in Virginia Beach, but now live in Richmond. My home is everything. It’s where the memories are made, so I try to make it as cozy as possible. I’m a homebody at heart so for me, having a comfortable, loving home is so important.

Being a mum of triplets is…such a blessing. For two years my husband and I tried to have a baby and eventually turned to IVF. We were hoping for just one baby.  At our first ultrasound we found out we were having twins and then at our 12 week ultrasound we were told us a third baby was hiding...I couldn’t believe it! From that day forward our lives changed forever.

The thing that has surprised me most about motherhood has been….how fast time is flying. I cannot believe they are 5 months old - I feel like it was just yesterday that I found out there were three babies inside of me.

The biggest challenge of juggling three babies would have to be….

Well, every minute of every day is challenging...from feeding, laundry, changing nappies, to play time, it’s super hard work.  It keeps me constantly busy, but I love it.  I don’t have help and my hubby works full time. In the beginning we were in complete survival mode, getting three hours sleep each night, if that, but now it’s awesome now that the the babies sleep through the night.

I find joy in….looking at their sweet faces everyday. I literally stare at them and at times cannot believe they’re mine. I try to enjoy every minute I can with my sweet little tribe.

I’m looking forward to….seeing them grow. I can’t wait to create memories with them on holidays and vacations. I can’t wait to see what their personalities will be like and if my identical girls will try to play tricks on me and my husband… I’m just looking forward to a future of good times with our new family.
