Rowie Moore is the creative whiz behind the modern bohemian clothing label, Rowie. The Byron Bay-based designer has been going to the Indonesian paradise of Bali since she was eight and now travels regularly to her second home with her man Dayne and babes Bodhi and Maya for work and a little play.
She took time out to share her Bali travel tips with Children of the Tribe.
Who is in your tribe?
We are Rowie, Dayne, Bodhi, 4, and Maya, 20.

Happy organised chaos!
You visit Bali a lot with your family. Where do you stay?
We like to move around when we go to Bali so we tend to stay in different places every time, but generally we stay around Canggu and Seminyak as we always like to be close to the best food and also where my production team is in Canggu. We always stay in villas as we like to create our own little home wherever we go.
If you're not working, what is your ideal way to spend a day in Bali?
I am always working!! [Laughs]. No, I always try to have a little downtime and it usually involves either a day trip to somewhere we haven't been before or a few hours at a day spa. Thankfully, both of my kids love foot reflexology so we often do spa days as a family taking turns to get massages. Last trip, we went to Bambu Indah to meet up with friends and swim in the natural pools there. I always find Bali a very creatively inspiring destination and it is places like this that I love to share with my family.
What do you love about Bali, and what are the downsides?
I have been going to Bali since I was eight years old and the one thing that has never changed is how welcoming and friendly the people are. The main thing I don't like is the mosquitoes and the traffic.
Bali has changed a lot in recent years. Any hidden gems we should know about?
Bali is all about food for our tribe! Our fave cafes are Peleton Supershop, Green Ginger, Shady Shack, Milk & Madhu & Watercress and One Eyed Jacks
You can eat anywhere in Bali with no budget. Where would you go?
My fave splurge eats are Sarong, Bambu, Mama San, Sardine and Chandi.
Any tips for heading to Bali with little kids?
I always look for enclosed villas that I can keep the mosquitoes out of, shut down when it’s really hot and for keeping little ones away from the pool area. I always take baby probiotics for little tummies.
