What was the inspiration behind your Isla Bay Reef Shack?
We looked at so many houses before buying our shack and couldn’t agree but once we saw it both knew it was it! It’s between the lake and the ocean and fit our lifestyle so much. I drew inspiration from different types of coastal shack styles but in a more laidback fun way.
How do you style a space?
It definitely depends on the space and what you already have to work with. We were lucky with the house it was a pretty neutral palette, we aren’t doing any major works for a while so just cosmetic changes that are fun and true to our laidback vibe.
Do you have a favourite part of the house?
Definitely the kids rooms, I always love having fun styling the kids rooms and don’t hold back. Each one is styled with their personality.
Tell us a little bit about yourself and your family!
My husband and I have been together since we were 15 and 16. We had three kids Bay 10, Isla 7 and Reef 3. We love nothing more than spending days at the beach. Although between both of us working and kids activities it’s pretty full on at times. Definitely love our down days!!
What has been the biggest surprise about becoming a Mum?
There are so many.. Can I say how fast it goes? Especially when they start school. I absolutely try and savour each day!
Do you have any advice for expecting Mamas out there?
Absolutely listen to your gut, you will get advice from so many people. What works for one doesn’t always work for someone else. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, it definitely takes a village.
