For your little mover and shaker! This handwoven Caxixi is a traditional musical shaker from Bolgantanga, Ghana.
Caxixi, pronounced "ke-she-she", is an ancient African percussion instrument consisting of a woven top and a flat bottom. The body of the instrument is filled with dried seeds or pebbles, and is either shaken or struck to obtain the desired sound.
Made from natural elephant grass, with calabash gourd bottom for percussion.
WARNING: Not suitable for babies, contains small pebbles and seeds.
