As founder of iconic surfing mag, Stab, Sam McIntosh is one rad-dad who’s always captivated us. This charismatic figure and his equally talented interior stylist wife, Arabella, form a creative duo who packed up their Bondi pad and relocated to California, with little ones Bobby and Willa in tow. They spoke to Children of the Tribe about what’s to love about life in Venice Beach, the stratospheric feel-good jolts of parenthood, and how living with spontaneity can see you find adventure in any situation.

Meet Dr Keith Alexander, Mechanical Engineer and father of 3, who spent 15 years of his life dedicated to inventing the world’s safest trampoline, Springfree. As the mama behind blog ‘This Little Wandering’ Colorado mum-of-two Kayla describes her tribe as wanderers, dreamers and explorers. Documenting the visual journey of their life, and raising their daughters Jessamyn 2 and newborn Ophelia, Kayla took some time out to share a few words with Children of the Tribe about home, joy, beauty and her favourite place to wander.

Dean and Jodie Fergus are the couple behind Secret Sumatra, a dream started by Dean and his mate back in the early two thousands. It has now evolved into a 12 person surf resort on the beach with a lounge bar and infinity pool overlooking a perfect wave out front. It is also is home for these two and their 3 little ones, River 4, Lion 2 and two month old daughter Solei. We caught up with Dean and Jodie to chat about raising their kids in an Indonesian surf camp and what it’s like to split their time between life in the jungle and Australia.
