Lizzy & Johnny are quite the pair. These two ooze inspiration to anyone with a love for and connection to surf, nature, people, music, fashion, family and more. Their lifestyle and appreciation for the simple things is so refreshing and most likely the reason for all their successes. If anyone has followed their heart, it’s these two, and by doing so, they have found each-other and in each-other, they have created a family, a beautiful life in Byron Bay as well as hugely successful careers.
Lizzy, originally coming from Melbourne via Bondi Beach made her way to Byron Bay in 2009 to join her sister in creating their internationally much loved boho chic fashion label, Spell & the Gypsy Collective. Lizzy has been an integral part in the success of SPELL, her passion, understanding for what women love is inherit and comes natural to her. Lizzy is also a dear friend to us and has supported Children of the Tribe in countless ways to help us grow.
Johnny, raised in Tasmania until he was 15, made his way to Byron Bay while surfing professionally. He perused his passion for film-making & photography in 2006. His filmmaking varies from oyster farmers, to mothers in Ethiopia, to music videos to fashion.
The best part is, they often cross-over, they collaborate, they work together… Johnny has shot and filmed many SPELL campaigns and Lizzy has helped with art direction, editing and more.
And the very best creation these two have made to date? Their beautiful little ones- Indiana who’s nearly two and Alushia who’s not even two weeks.
Here, they share a few cherished images of family life and a beautiful, heart felt, must-see video by Johnny Abegg- “Fatherhood”.
Congratulations Lizzy & Johnny… In all you have created.
